This farm uses Vedic Methods for growing their coffee. This is an ancient form of cultivation, rich in history but basically means that everything used on the farm to grow any product is based on 100% natural, organic materials. These organic materials are not brought in from an outside source either, they are all made on site.
Pachagavyam is a mixture of 5 products derived from the cow used in traditional Hindu rituals: urine, dung and milk and two derived products: curd and ghee. These are mixed in a proper ratio and allowed to ferment then used as a tonic for their plants.
At sunrise, an offering (called Agnihotra) is made to the Sun God and the ashes of this offering are sprinkled over the estate as a pest repellent.
These coffees are tasty and complex. Not many people on average are familiar with good coffees from this region/country which is why we brought them in to Honest for the second time. They're pleasing to any palate with tasting notes of Craisins, Chocolate and sweet Agave.
