Ignacio Carlos Urban arrived in Minas Gerais, a state in southern Brazil bordering the Atlantic Ocean, in the 1970’s with a dream, paired with much determination and desire, to produce quality coffee on a large scale. He started with soybeans and now, more than 45 years later, Grupo Farroupilha has grown into that larger scale operation. There are now labs for analyzing seeds and coffee quality, a cotton plant that processes fiber produced by the company, as well as coffee trading, a transport yard and fertilizer mixer.

We are thrilled to bring Rio Brilhante, this unique, naturally processed coffee into our lineup. With a dominant and upfront nutty taste, rounded out by a sweet fruit forward flavor, we recommend this for drip/filter or by the cup brewing.
